THE MOMENT EVERYTHING SHIFTED

I didn’t approach that first portrait thinking about creating a body of work.

I wasn’t thinking about a brand, a style, or even a direction.

I was trying to hold on to something I didn’t want time to take away.

What I discovered in that process changed everything. How do I capture a LIFE and not just a LIKENESS?

BEYOND THE PORTRAIT

I realized I wasn’t just capturing what someone looked like. Or what my mother looked like. I was trying to understand who she was when no one else was looking. Just looking through these thousands of pictures opened up a world that I was looking at from the sidelines.

The weight they carried. The quiet moments that never get photographed. The parts of a life that disappear when a person is gone.

“If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words do a thousand pictures make?“

WHY I CREATE

That question has stayed with me ever since. From that point forward, I stopped thinking of my work as portraits in the traditional sense. Each piece became a search for meaning inside a face, a name, and a legacy. Whether it is a mother, a musician, an athlete, or a cultural icon, I’m not interested in fame. I’m interested in impact.

THE THREAD

Some of these stories will be about well-known figures.
Others will be deeply personal.
All of them will connect to the same idea:
Nothing meaningful should be lost without being seen.
